Atlanta’s e-bike rebate program is back, and demand is again far greater than the number of available vouchers. As of midday Friday, 5,449 residents had applied for the latest round, according to reporting published ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that more than 400 rebates will be awarded through a random selection process. The city first launched the program in 2024, when more than 11,000 people applied.
Rebates can reach $1,600
The program offers three voucher amounts based on household income: $1,600, $1,100 or $550. Atlanta residents must be at least 18 and meet the program’s income rules.
For a one-person household, someone making up to $48,000 can qualify for the largest rebate, while an individual making up to $112,000 could still qualify for the $550 level, according to the AJC.
The vouchers must be used at participating brick-and-mortar bike shops inside Atlanta. They are meant to lower the upfront cost of an e-bike for residents who may use it in place of some car trips.
Another round is expected next spring
The current two-week application window closes Tuesday. Because applications already outnumber available rebates by more than ten to one, applying does not guarantee a voucher.
Officials say another application period is expected in spring 2027, giving residents who miss this drawing another opportunity.
