A longtime investor wants the Atlanta Braves’ parent company to consider selling. That does not mean the Braves have announced a sale.
In a September 14 public letter, Breach Inlet Capital Management urged Atlanta Braves Holdings’ board to explore a sale process. The firm said it has been an investor for nearly a decade.

What the investor is asking for
Breach Inlet argues that demand for sports franchises creates an opportunity for shareholders. Its case also highlights The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development surrounding the ballpark.
The letter asks the board to discuss a sale with John Malone, who has effective voting control. As an alternative, it suggests he consider a proposal to take the company private.
A proposal, not a sale announcement
These are the shareholder’s recommendations, not an announced agreement or an approved ownership change. The letter does not establish that a buyer has been selected or a transaction will happen.
