The Atlanta Falcons walked into New Orleans on Monday night and spoiled one of the Saints’ most emotional regular-season celebrations, winning 45–24 behind a punishing rushing attack.
Bijan Robinson set the tone immediately, breaking a 59-yard touchdown run on Atlanta’s third offensive play. He finished with 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns as the Falcons improved to 2–2. CBS Atlanta reported that Atlanta never trailed.

Atlanta controlled the ground game
Brian Robinson Jr. added three rushing touchdowns and 62 yards, giving the Falcons five rushing scores for the night. Atlanta finished with more than 200 rushing yards while holding New Orleans to just 50 on the ground.
Michael Penix Jr. was efficient in the passing game, completing 15 of 20 throws for 223 yards and a touchdown. His 31-yard scoring pass to Jahan Dotson helped put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter.
Back-to-back blowout road wins
The result gives Atlanta consecutive decisive road victories after beating Green Bay 35–14. It also brings the Falcons back to .500 and into a tie near the top of the NFC South.
The next question is whether Atlanta can carry the same run-game dominance into its next primetime matchup and continue building momentum around Penix and the Robinson backfield.
