Jersey’s unexpected trip to Georgia has a happy update: the kitten has been adopted.
The cat became a local story after traveling about 800 miles from New Jersey to Athens hidden in a University of Georgia student’s car. Campus Cats announced that Jersey had found a home as of September 6, according to FOX 5 Atlanta’s September 14 update.

An unexpected passenger
The student discovered a leg protruding near the bumper after arriving on campus. She believed the kitten had climbed into the vehicle before she left New Jersey.
Earlier FOX 5 reporting described help from UGA police, Campus Cats and workers at Tires Plus, who removed parts beneath the vehicle to reach him.
Campus Cats cared for Jersey and arranged his adoption. Details about the new family have not been released.
