Kennesaw State is adding a scholarship worth $10,000 a year for a small group of incoming Georgia students—but the first cohort will arrive in fall 2027, not this semester.

The university announced its Presidential Fellows Cohort on September 15. The program will be housed in the KSU Journey Honors College and provide the annual scholarship for up to four years.

What the program includes

Beyond the scholarship, KSU says fellows will receive mentorship, executive-shadowing opportunities, leadership coursework and a study-abroad experience in Montepulciano, Italy.

The initial group will include 10 students, according to Atlanta News First’s report. This is a competitive selection process, not an automatic award for every incoming student.

Applications open September 21

KSU’s official program page says applications open September 21, 2026. Applicants must be accepted to both Kennesaw State and the Journey Honors College by December 15 and complete the fellowship application by that date.

Eligibility includes Georgia residency, Zell Miller scholarship eligibility, entry as a traditional first-year student in fall 2027 and the ability to complete the Presidential Fellows minor. The university also lists academic requirements and recommendation materials on the program page.

Invited finalists will attend an in-person interview during Honors Interview Day in February 2027. Students should use the official page for the full requirements rather than treating the scholarship amount alone as confirmation of eligibility.
