Atlanta Black Pride Weekend is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a full slate of events across the city, bringing together music, nightlife, public service and LGBTQ+ community programming over the Labor Day weekend.
The milestone weekend includes the Mayor’s Black Pride Reception at Atlanta City Hall, parties and galas hosted by local organizers, a drag brunch and a closing-day barbecue and adult field day. Organizers have built the anniversary around both celebration and continued support for Atlanta’s Black LGBTQ+ community.
Pure Heat returns to Piedmont Park
One of the weekend’s largest public events is the Pure Heat Community Festival, scheduled for Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. at Piedmont Park. The free festival is expected to feature live entertainment, vendors, health resources and community organizations.
Scheduled performers include Durand Bernarr, Oliver Twixt, Patrice “Sway” McKinney, Saucy Santana and Billy The Goat. Additional anniversary events include a Friday day party and an Influencers Gala featuring Tamar Braxton.
The Mayor’s Black Pride Reception also supports the Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program. Event schedules, ticket requirements and age restrictions vary, so attendees should confirm details with individual organizers before arriving.
