Atlanta Dream’s HBCU and Divine Nine night is Saturday at State Farm Arena

Atlanta Dream Season Opener

The Atlanta Dream’s Saturday game will bring HBCU and Divine Nine pride to downtown Atlanta. The Dream host the Chicago Sky at State Farm Arena on September 19 at 7 p.m., with the venue listing the matchup as HBCU + D9 Night.

The official game page says general-public doors open at 5:30 p.m. This game is at the downtown arena—not a reason to head to another venue used by the Dream during the season.

A scholarship connection for Divine Nine supporters

The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Greater Atlanta is promoting a group-ticket offer linked to the evening. It says a portion of proceeds from tickets purchased through its special link will support the council’s scholarship fund.

The announced allocation is 200 seats, split between Sections 202 and 115. That is the size of the offer, not a verified count of seats still available. Check the council’s linked ticket page for current inventory and pricing.

The fundraising condition matters: the council specifies purchases through its special link. A ticket bought elsewhere should not automatically be described as contributing to that scholarship offer. Members organizing a chapter outing should confirm the purchase route before collecting money from the group.

Choose the right ticket before planning the group

The arena links to its official Ticketmaster listing, club seating and suite inquiries. Those products can have different benefits. Do not assume a regular seat includes food, a club entrance, parking or merchandise simply because another package does.

For a group, agree on the budget and seating section before anyone checks out. Make sure each person knows who holds the tickets and how they will be transferred. The venue recommends adding mobile tickets to a phone wallet before arrival and reserving parking in advance.

Theme-night branding alone is not a promise of a free item or a specific halftime performance. Use the team’s final event information for those details rather than carrying over a promotion from a previous year’s game.

Pack for this arena’s rules

The game page lists a maximum regular bag size of 14 by 14 by 6 inches and says State Farm Arena does not require clear bags. Bags are screened, and separate restrictions and exceptions apply to certain types. Check the full policy before bringing a backpack, medical bag or stroller.

That is different from assuming every Atlanta venue follows the same clear-bag rule. Measure the bag you intend to carry and review the event’s own instructions, especially when moving between a concert, football game and basketball game during the same weekend.

Keep Saturday separate from playoff ticket plans

State Farm Arena also has a Dream playoff-ticket listing for the first two rounds. It explicitly labels dates as to be determined and says the venue remains subject to change based on the assigned playoff dates.

A calendar placeholder on that page should not be treated as a confirmed playoff game date. Saturday’s Chicago matchup has a specific date and time; a postseason ticket or presale listing is a different purchase. Read the details before arranging nonrefundable travel around it.

Make the evening work for your crew

Choose a meeting point and a return-trip plan before heading downtown. Allow time for screening, finding seats and any food stop rather than treating a 7 p.m. tipoff as the ideal parking-lot arrival time. Fans needing accommodations should contact the arena through its accessibility information in advance.

For alumni groups and chapters, the combination of basketball and a scholarship-linked ticket option offers a shared reason to attend. Confirm the right offer, keep the plans clear and check the official game page again before departure. Information in this guide was reviewed September 17, 2026.
