Atlanta has approved new parking restrictions on Larchmont Circle in northwest Atlanta following complaints about blocked driveways, emergency access and large gatherings near a short-term rental.

The Atlanta City Council approved the resolution in late August. It directs the city to prohibit parking along Larchmont Circle and calls for new signs to be installed within 30 days, according to WSB-TV’s September 9 report.
Residents raised access concerns
Neighbors said events at a property on the street brought enough vehicles to narrow the roadway and sometimes block private driveways. They also questioned whether emergency vehicles could move through the area during the largest gatherings.
Councilmember Andrea Boone said the legislation was intended to address the most serious parking and safety problems connected to activity at the property. The measure changes curb access on the street; it does not itself decide broader questions about short-term rental licensing or land use.
Signs and enforcement come next
The resolution anticipates sign installation within 30 days. Enforcement would follow the posted restrictions, giving residents and visitors a visible notice of where vehicles may no longer be left.
The practical effect will depend on the final sign placement and city enforcement after installation. Drivers visiting the area should check newly posted curb restrictions rather than relying on older parking patterns.
