Dragon Con’s annual blood drive reached a new high in 2026, with 4,114 people donating during the five-day event in downtown Atlanta. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers organized the drive, which ran alongside the convention and supplied blood products for hospitals across Atlanta and the Southeast.
The final donor count set a record for the convention-based drive. Organizers said the donations support more than 25 Atlanta-area hospitals, turning one of the region’s largest fan gatherings into a major community-service effort.

Blood collected through the drive is tested, processed and distributed according to medical need. LifeSouth has partnered with Dragon Con for years, inviting eligible attendees and local residents to schedule appointments or walk in during the convention.

The 2026 total reflects completed donor visits, not the convention’s overall attendance. Organizers encouraged people who missed the event to donate at LifeSouth centers and mobile drives throughout the year.
