FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — An 85-year-old man faces felony-murder and aggravated-assault charges after his wife died following a reported domestic-violence incident Sunday evening.
Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies identified the accused as Thomas Elliott Field and the woman who died as 81-year-old Deborah Field. The charges are allegations, and the investigation remains active.
Deputies responded to Collins Point Road
Deputies were called to a Collins Point Road residence at approximately 7:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a domestic-violence situation, according to information released by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and reported by local news outlets.
Emergency personnel found Deborah Field suffering from multiple injuries and provided medical care. She died at the residence.
Thomas Field was detained at the scene. Detectives from the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit and members of its Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate.
Investigation remains active
Thomas Field was booked into the Forsyth County Jail on felony-murder and aggravated-assault charges. WSB Radio reported that his first court appearance was expected Tuesday.
Investigators described the incident as isolated and said they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
