By Jeremy Jones @GAFollowers · On December 12, 2014

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –

Georgia State Patrol Post 40 and Marines say many children in need will have a brighter Christmas this year, thanks to generous donations to Toys for Tots.

The post in Albany said they have collected about 1,000 toys and $575 in checks from donations.

GSP Post Commander Sgt. Shawn Urquhart and Marine Gunnery Sgt. Johnny Ruby were at the post Friday for donations to be picked up.

Sgt. Ruby is the Toys for Tots Director for the region.

It is the 5th year Georgia State Patrol Post 40 has teamed up with the community to deliver donated toys.

Officials commended donors for their outstanding giving.
