Georgia Tech and Emory say their combined commitments to artificial intelligence exceed $1 billion, adding to Atlanta’s investment in research, computing and talent.
An October 8 announcement from Emory describes approximately $600 million from Emory and more than $575 million from Georgia Tech. Those totals include existing investments; they should not be read as a new $1 billion allocation made that day.
Georgia Tech’s share focuses on computing, research and workforce development. Emory’s work spans health sciences and other academic fields. Emory says nearly half of its investment has already supported recruiting and retaining talent.
The figures are the universities’ stated commitments. This brief does not independently measure their spending or the economic results they expect.
