A child-exploitation investigation led Walton County sheriff’s investigators to fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and electronic storage devices during a search of a Loganville home, according to authorities.
Deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Georgia Circle as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children and narcotics investigation involving Wilbur Hines, FOX 5 reported.
Deputies say drugs and digital evidence were recovered
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said investigators found fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and items they associated with drug distribution. They also recovered electronic devices, SD cards and USB drives.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators found child sexual abuse material on storage media connected to Hines. The case remains an allegation unless and until the charges are proven in court.
Authorities announced five counts of sexual exploitation of children along with obstruction and multiple drug-related charges, including possession and possession with intent to distribute.
The investigation is still open
The initial release did not provide a bond amount, court date or information indicating that another person had been charged. Investigators also did not publicly identify any alleged victims.
The next developments will come from the ongoing Walton County investigation and court filings. Additional charges are possible in an active investigation, but none should be assumed before authorities announce them.
