Two men have been arrested after a weekend shooting at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon left 12 people wounded, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
WSB-TV reported that David Pitts, 20, and Jaquez Bailey, 22, are the first two people taken into custody in the investigation. The shooting happened just after midnight Sunday during a gathering at the park.

Twelve people were wounded
Authorities said 12 people were shot. Two of the victims, ages 17 and 18, were listed in critical condition in the most recent public update. Officials have not released a full list of victims or a new medical update for the two critically injured people.
Bailey faces 12 counts of aggravated assault. Pitts faces 12 counts of party to a crime. Both were being held without bond Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation is still open
Investigators have not publicly explained what led to the shooting, and the arrests do not establish guilt. The sheriff’s office also has not said whether it expects additional arrests.
The next major update will be whether investigators identify additional suspects, recover more evidence or release new information about what happened immediately before the gunfire.
