A Meriwether County man is facing nearly a dozen child-molestation and attempted-sex-offense charges after a Georgia Bureau of Investigation case that began in August.
The GBI said the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance on Aug. 18 in a case involving William Irving Nash, 58, of Greenville. The investigation led to Nash’s arrest Friday, Atlanta News First reported.
GBI lists multiple charges
The agency said Nash is charged with one count of aggravated child molestation, six counts of child molestation, one count of criminal attempt to commit rape, one count of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation and one count of criminal attempt to commit child molestation.
The GBI did not release additional details about the allegations or identify any alleged victim. The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.
Investigators are asking for information
The GBI is asking anyone with information to contact its Columbus regional office at 706-565-7888. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the agency’s tip line or online portal.
The case now moves through the criminal court system while investigators continue gathering information.
