An autopsy found that Shanteria Mosley, the woman whose dismembered remains were discovered in Smyrna earlier this month, had also been shot in the head, police said Tuesday.
Mosley was found dead at the Park Valley Apartments in Smyrna on Sept. 21. Atlanta News First reported the new autopsy finding as detectives continue searching for additional evidence.
A murder charge has already been filed
Kingston Bradley, 18, is facing charges including malice murder and concealing the death of another. Police say a witness reported seeing Bradley carrying a plastic tub that contained human remains before he ran toward a nearby apartment.
Investigators later searched an apartment and said they found bloodstains, a blood-covered saw, bleach and cleaning equipment. On Friday, detectives found additional body parts believed to be Mosley’s inside a vehicle trunk.
Police are still searching for evidence
Police said they are still searching for other parts of Mosley’s body and continue to execute search warrants and conduct interviews.
The charges against Bradley are allegations. The new autopsy finding adds evidence to the homicide investigation but does not replace the court process that will determine criminal responsibility.
