LakePoint is one of Georgia’s premier sporting communities and sports vacation destinations. Tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains near Lake Allatoona, LakePoint covers over 1,300 acres and provides fields for practically every outdoor sport, even offering a man made lake to practice water sports such as wake boarding. Today, June 1st, 2016, marks a significant landmark for LakePoint. The unveiling of their new, indoor sporting facility completes LakePoint’s sporting community.
LakePoint is a vanguard in the sporting community. Home to more than 6 million annual visitors, the Indoor Facility is built with innovative technologies, offers onsite physical therapist, and has the ability to host non-sporting events. The Indoor Facility encompasses 170,000 square feet with 12 hardwood basketball courts which convert into 24 volleyball courts. Now, thanks to the special add-on, LakePoint can host additional sporting events for gymnast, wrestlers fencers, and other indoor sporting events.
Members of the press, investors, and many distinguished guest attended todays grand opening of LakePoint’s Indoor Facility. Of the distinguished guest was Bobby Cox, legendary Major League Baseball player and Manager to the Atlanta Braves. Cox did not share many words, but his presence and endorsement of LakePoint are a great way to inaugurate the facility.
