A Parkview High School student faces criminal charges and school discipline after posting a threat against the Lilburn campus on social media, according to a message sent to school families.
FOX 5 reports that school police immediately investigated the post and met with the student and the student’s parents. The student told officers the threat was not serious, according to Principal David Smith’s letter.
Classes are continuing normally
School officials said there is no continuing danger to students or staff and that teaching and learning will proceed normally Monday.
Smith told families that threats violate both the district’s Student Conduct Behavior Code and state law. He also thanked students who reported the post, allowing police to investigate quickly.
The student’s age and identity have not been released. Authorities also have not publicly described the exact wording of the post or specified the criminal charges.
Parkview has dealt with another recent threat
The new case comes shortly after a separate September 11 incident in which an AI-generated threatening phone call sent the school into a soft lockdown. Law enforcement cleared that earlier threat and normal operations resumed.
Officials have not said the two incidents are connected. The latest case involves a student’s social-media post, while the earlier episode involved a masked phone number and an AI-generated call.
The next public update is expected to clarify the charges and any additional school disciplinary action.
