Two former owners of a Peachtree City flight school have been arrested following a Georgia Bureau of Investigation inquiry into student accounts and school finances.
The GBI identified the men as Alex Hamlin, 34, and Harlan Hamlin, 59, both former owners of FYLT Aviation. Investigators said each man faces 20 counts of theft by conversion and one count of violating Georgia’s RICO Act.
Investigation began after complaints
The flight school was sold in October 2024. The GBI said it joined the investigation on February 12, 2025, after students reported financial discrepancies involving their accounts.
Authorities allege money in student accounts, including funds from scholarships and financing, was misappropriated. The two men were booked into the Fayette County Jail on September 4, 2026.
The investigation remains active, and the GBI said additional arrests are expected. The case will be forwarded to the Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
