A school bus carrying students and a box truck collided near Interstate 20 in Lithonia early Friday morning, temporarily blocking lanes and prompting an emergency response.
The crash happened around 6:15 a.m. Sept. 25 on Turner Hill Road near the I-20 eastbound exit ramp, according to Atlanta News First. Traffic-camera footage showed children being escorted from the rear of the bus after the collision.
DeKalb County police told Atlanta News First that no serious injuries were reported. FOX 5 Atlanta reported minor injuries, although officials had not said whether any students were among those injured or how many people were hurt.
Several lanes were temporarily blocked while crews responded. Drivers were advised to use Lithonia Industrial Boulevard as an alternate route. FOX 5 reported the scene had been cleared around 7:30 a.m.
Officials had not released details on what caused the crash as of Friday morning. The incident remains under investigation.
