Atlanta police are investigating after two people were found dead Tuesday night in southwest Atlanta in what officers described as an apparent murder-suicide.
Officers responded to the 2700 block of Head Road SW around 8:14 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Police found two people dead
Police said they first found a man who had been shot. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officers then searched a nearby wooded area and found a second person who appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. That person was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators told FOX 5 that the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide, but authorities had not released the identities, ages or genders of the two people pending notification of next of kin.
Key details remain unknown
Police have not publicly said who fired the fatal shots, what relationship existed between the two people or what led up to the shooting. The investigation remains active.
