‘Breaking the Shackles’ to Hold Multi-Cultural Pot Lock Dinner

By Rick Limpert @RickRoswell · On November 16, 2016

Around the world, our country, even in our state of Georgia human trafficking is a growing and austere problem.  Human trafficking is a criminal business that profits from enslaving people for sexual servitude and forced labor.  The National Human Trafficking Resource Center has found that the 2016 statistics (as of June 30, 2016) show that 128 cases of human trafficking have been reported.  According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it is the fastest growing and second largest criminal industry in the world today (second only to drug trafficking and tied with illegal arms).   It is an issue affecting people in and out of our country, females, males, adults, and even children are going through both sexual and labor traffic

Breaking the Shackles, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to raise awareness about human trafficking and the effect that it is having on our society, so that others may act and join them in the fight against this social injustice. They also raise money to be donated to partner charities dedicated to promoting awareness of and fighting to eradicate modern-day slavery.

The organization’s Centennial High School Branch is holding a Multi-Cultural Potluck dinner. The event will be held at Bridge to Grace Church (2385 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Roswell, GA 30076) on Saturday November 26th  at 6:30 P.M. They are inviting you, your family, and friends to come out and enjoy some delicious food and fellowship while hearing a bit more about their organization. If you are interested in bringing a family or cultural dish of your own to share with all those attending feel free to go to the Sign-Up Genius link to do so.

As a caring Georgian, you can keep up to date with Breaking the Shackles, along with news, events, and progress. See the link to their website and Facebook page here. The more people who learn about the organization and join their mission, can begin taking steps to help all those under duress of human trafficking.
