Atlanta-born Coco Gauff advanced to the 2026 U.S. Open quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Iva Jovic on September 7. The win put Gauff into the tournament’s final eight for the first time since she won the title in 2023.
Gauff controlled the opening set and closed the match in straight sets. The official U.S. Open draw placed her next against Mirra Andreeva, with a semifinal berth at stake.
