Tornado Watch 679 remains in effect for parts of southeast Georgia until 8 p.m. EDT Saturday, October 10.
In its latest 6:20 p.m. update, the National Weather Service Charleston office listed Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, McIntosh and Screven counties under the watch. The watch also covers parts of southeast South Carolina and nearby coastal waters.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms; it does not mean a tornado has been confirmed in every area under the watch.
Conditions have changed throughout the afternoon as counties were added or cleared. Check the latest National Weather Service Georgia alerts for any updates before the scheduled 8 p.m. expiration.
