New Report Says Atlanta Will Get More People, Jobs and Traffic

By Jeremy Jones @GAFollowers · On May 23, 2017

WE ARE FULL! Unfortunately a new mayors report states that Metro Atlanta will continue to grow in the next 30 years becoming the 6th largest metro area in the country according to projections released last Wednesday by the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

Atlanta is projected to now have over 8.6 million people by the year 2046.

Currently Atlanta is the 9th largest metro area with 5.8 million people. According to Wikipedia:

New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, DC, and Miami are all beating Atlanta. Here’s a graphic of the cities that will grow the most in the next 30 years.

With as much traffic Atlanta has, it’s surprising to see that Atlanta doesn’t even crack the top 5.
