Another bagel shop is planned for the Atlanta Beltline, but this one is not taking orders at its new address yet. Spread Bagelry lists a coming-soon location at 820 Ralph McGill Boulevard, and local reporting points to a 2027 opening at Common Ground.
The Philadelphia-based business already has a Buckhead restaurant. The new location would bring its hand-rolled, wood-fired bagels to a different part of Atlanta, beside the Eastside Trail. The company’s listing confirms the address, while the timing and space details come from Tomorrow’s News Today–Atlanta’s September 15 report.
Where the new shop is planned
The report places Spread in a small portion of the former Illuminarium space, near the open-air hallway and Azara. Two Urban Licks and New Realm Brewing are also at Common Ground. The former entertainment venue’s roughly 30,000-square-foot footprint should not be mistaken for the size of the bagel shop.
Spread labels the location “Midtown Atlanta” on its official directory; the reported Ralph McGill address is in the Old Fourth Ward. Using the address is more useful than relying on the marketing label when comparing the future location with the existing Buckhead store.
The directory does not give a firm opening day. A coming-soon listing is not a booking page or a notice that service has started. Construction, hiring and an opening announcement would be separate developments to watch as the project progresses.
What distinguishes the bagels?
Spread’s description of its baking process starts with fermented dough, followed by hand shaping, boiling in honey-infused water and baking in a wood-fired brick oven. The business traces its beginnings to Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse neighborhood.
That process is the central feature of the brand’s identity. Rather than presenting its marketing claims as a taste test, this is an explanation of how the company says it makes the product. GAFollowers has not visited the future Common Ground shop or assessed a menu that has not been announced for it.
The existing menu provides a starting point
The Buckhead menu highlights include The Standard, with bacon, eggs and Cooper Sharp cheese; The Classic, with nova lox or whitefish salad, spread, tomato, onion and capers; and The Cure, combining brisket, bacon, eggs and jalapeño spread.
Those examples show the range of the existing offering, from an egg-and-cheese breakfast to a fish-based option. They do not establish final Common Ground prices or guarantee that every item will appear at the new shop. Location-specific menus, availability and customization options should be checked when ordering.
Where customers can go now
Spread’s open Buckhead location is at 47 Irby Avenue NW. Its posted shop hours are 6 a.m.–2:30 p.m. daily, or until sold out. The page lists dine-in and pickup, with a more limited weekend online-ordering window.
For a group breakfast, check the available pickup time before collecting everyone’s order. A business that can sell out is a poor fit for a plan that depends on arriving at the last possible minute for one particular flavor. Call the location or use its ordering page to confirm the options for that day.
What is still unannounced
A precise opening date, final operating hours and any launch promotions for Common Ground remain unconfirmed in the materials reviewed. Existing Buckhead details should not be copied across as though they are the future store’s schedule.
For now, the useful distinction is between a place to visit today and a new location to keep on the radar for next year. The company’s directory and the local development report establish the plan; they do not turn it into an operating restaurant.
