A Flood Watch remains in effect for Savannah and surrounding coastal Georgia areas through 2 a.m. Sunday as bands of heavy rain continue across the region.
The National Weather Service says additional rainfall could lead to flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. The watch includes Savannah and parts of coastal southeast Georgia.
Earlier Saturday, a coastal-flood advisory was in effect from 7–11 a.m. for the Bryan, Chatham, Liberty and McIntosh coastline, while a separate rainfall flood advisory for parts of Bryan and Chatham counties ended at 9:15 a.m.
Those earlier advisories have expired, but the broader Flood Watch remains active. Conditions can change quickly, so residents should check the latest National Weather Service alerts before traveling through flood-prone areas.
