Future’s Purple Reign is Russell Wilson’s Kryptonite

By Jeremy Jones @GAFollowers · On January 17, 2016

Purple Reign…………..purple reign. The NFL playoffs are in full swing now and today marked a historical NFC Divisional Playoff game between the Panthers and Seahawks. The game was a complete blowout, apparently the Seahawks sold their souls for a missed FG against the Vikings last week and the devil came to collect.

Before the game Atlanta rapper Future released a 13 track mixtape called Purple Reign, coincidence? I think not. As you may know, Future isn’t the biggest Russell Wilson fan. In 2014 Future split with Atlanta native and R&B singer Ciara and since then Ciara has moved on to Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson and social media hasn’t quit joking since.

“I mean, I want her to be totally happy. Like, you gotta understand, you want a person to be happy.” – Future

Last month, Future took to Twitter to air out the inconsistencies between him and Ciara, this led to Future calling Ciara a ‘bitch’. Ciara responded by saying, “Future uses the situation to promote his music by staying in the press using her name.” This could be true because it works! That same day Future promised his fans a classic mixtape and now we fast forward to today, Purple Reign.

Future’s, Purple Reign released this morning right before the NFC Divisional game started. Fans made sure Russell Wilson and Ciara got the message by posting umbrella emojis on their Instagram accounts.

Fans weren’t the only ones making Russell Wilson aware of the unstoppable wrath of Future. The Carolina Panthers also played their part by blasting Future’s music during pregame warm-ups this morning.

Cam Newton is known for representing Atlanta to the fullest, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cam requested. Some of the Carolina Panthers got the message too, Tre Boston did the “DJ Esco” dance after sacking Russell Wilson in the first half.
