According to a news release Monday, Ryan’s Steakhouse filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy so it can restructure its debts and liabilities, strengthen its operations by closing certain weaker restaurants and recapitalize its business.
Yesterday locations in Statesboro, Dawsonsville and Augusta closed. Employees are upset after not receiving a heads up about the closing leaving dozens immediately out of jobs.
Employees tried to contact corporate management for comment but were unsuccessful. In a February statement, Ryan’s did say that employees, “will be given the opportunity to apply for positions at operating stores and we expect many to take advantage of the opportunity”.
