JEFFERSON, Georgia — Authorities in northeast Georgia say a man has been arrested in the deaths of a woman and her 13-year-old son.
Officials say police and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a house in Jefferson Wednesday morning and found the unidentified woman and teen had been fatally shot. Officials say a 47-year-old man who also lives in the home has been taken to the Jackson County Jail. Authorities say charges are pending against the man.
Information on the circumstances that led to the shooting was not immediately available.
Jefferson is about 20 miles northwest of Athens.
