Media outlets are reporting a 6-year-old Georgia girl has died just two days after her younger brother accidentally shot her.
Authorities say the shooting occurred after the children’s mother loaded them in the car but went to investigate why it wouldn’t start. It was moments later that she heard a gunshot.
The 4-year-old brother found the gun inside the vehicle and shot his sister in the head, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl has been identified as Millie Drew Kelly.
No charges are being filed in the case, detectives say.
A GoFundMe to support the family has already raised more than $32,000.
