Army Ranger Andrew Aimesbury Dies from Fire Training

Today the Army announced in a press release that 21 year old, Andrew Aimesbury lost his life this past Wednesday. Ranger Aimesbury suffered severe injuries from squad live-fire training at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Aimesbury enlisted in January and joined the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment unit in September of 2013. A spokeswoman from the regiment would not provide any more information on the incident and the situation is now being investigated.

Andrew Aimesbury is from Stratford, New Hampshire and served one tour in Afghanistan according to the new release.

“Andrew was an exceptional Ranger leader and an extraordinary man,” Colonel Brandon Tegtmeier, commander of 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, said in the release.

Andrew was survived by his parents and sister.
