The Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv player field was announced this week and while there are some returning favorites, it’s the young stars of tennis that might steal the show!

As previously announced, five-time Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv singles champion and former University of Georgia All-American John Isner returns to Atlanta to launch his North American hardcourt season. Isner will be joined by top Americans, a former Atlanta champion and a number of rising stars. Tickets are available now for nine days of tennis action, which will return to Atlantic Station on July 24 – August 1, 2021.

Isner will be joined by Reilly Opelka, who passed Isner to become the highest ranked American this week at No. 32, two-time Atlanta participant and former world No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov, 2019 Atlanta finalist Taylor Fritz, and one of the young stars of tennis in Italian Jannik Sinner.

“It’s a strong player entry list,” said Tournament Director, Eddie Gonzalez. “We have a great balance of young future stars along with savvy ATP Tour veterans, an excellent group of Americans and of course the popular Nick Kyrgios!”

Isner is off to a great start in 2021. He has reached the quarterfinals at two events, including the Masters 1000 in Madrid.

“Obviously I love to play in Georgia and to compete at the Truist Atlanta Open where I feel at home and have had so much success,” stated Isner.

The 6’10” Isner, consistently in the top-10, is now shooting for something rare and special: winning the same title six times. Isner holds a career mark of 31-4 in Atlanta and is looking to join the ranks of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors as the fifth American to win an ATP Tour title on six occasions.

The 30-year old Dimitrov has won eight ATP Tour singles titles worldwide and has reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. He is currently ranked No. 21.

Kyrgios returns to Atlanta, where he won the singles title in 2016. He owns five additional ATP singles titles and holds wins over each of the “Big 3”- Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Adding youth and star power to the 2021 draw will be Italian Jannik Sinner. The No. 23 ranked Sinner is widely regarded as a future tennis superstar. At just 19, Sinner has won two ATP titles and has been ranked as high as No. 17.

Another player to watch is the fast-rising American Sebastian Korda. Korda has shot up the rankings and now stands at a career high No. 50. The 20-year old son of former major champion, Petr Korda, captured his first title this spring on clay at Parma. Korda has garnered praise from former world No. 1’s in Andy Roddick and Pete Sampras. Korda and his all-court game could be a perfect complement to the hot hardcourts at Atlantic Station.

Fritz and Opelka have both tasted success in Atlanta and would love to add a Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv singles title to their resumes. Opelka and Fritz have both had strong results on hardcourts the past three years. Opelka is 45-40 with two titles and Fritz is 28-22.

Here is the singles entry list for the 2021 Truist Atlanta Open presented by Fiserv:
