Carnival’s AirShip Blimp Coming to Atlanta

By Rick Limpert @RickRoswell · On September 26, 2018

Take a look up in the sky this weekend. Carnival Cruise Line is showing off a new ship on its AirShip.

Carnival Cruise Line’s very own AirShip will be arriving in Atlanta to spread the word about Carnival’s newest ships in the southeast market while raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This is the aerial debut of Carnival’s AirShip, a massive 128-foot-long, 44-foot-tall red, white, and blue blimp that will be coming to Atlanta – to get the residents excited about the arrival of the Carnival Horizon, later this month.

There is enough helium in this AirShip to inflate 136,000 balloons, as the Carnival AirShip takes to the sky, and making its way across the Southeast on a 30-day voyage to celebrate the redeployment of of four Carnival ships relocating to new ports.

Atlanta residents will have a chance to choose fun and win a cruise for two, as well as other prizes such as swag, VIP event passes and Carnival Cruise gift cards, when they take a picture or video of the AirShip and post it on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtag #ChooseFun. The hashtag will also trigger a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Residents in Atlanta can now book fun, relaxing vacations on the Carnival Horizon, which is sailing from Miami!

As the newest ship in the fleet, Carnival Horizon introduces several innovations, including the first-ever Dr. Seuss water park, a new teppanyaki venue, and Smokehouse Brewhouse, a unique dining concept that combines real deal BBQ favorites created by Food Network star and longtime partner Guy Fieri, along with four craft beers brewed on board by brewmaster Colin Presby. The second in the line’s Vista-class series, Carnival Horizon also includes features like the bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction called SkyRide, an IMAX Theatre, a Havana section with its own Cuban-themed bar and pool, and Family Harbor with extra-roomy staterooms and the Family Harbor Lounge.
