By Rick Limpert @RickRoswell · On October 19, 2018

One of the great annual events in Atlanta is set for October 27-28.

Inventors, creators, tinkerers, engineers, enthusiasts, craft enthusiasts and artists from across the greater Atlanta area and throughout the Southeast will gather at the historic Georgia Railroad Freight Depot for the eighth Annual Maker Faire Atlanta on Saturday and Sunday, October 27-28, 2018.

Maker Faire Atlanta is completely FREE to attend but pre-registration is required. You can reserve tickets here.

Part science fair, part art festival and part something entirely new, Maker Faire Atlanta is a fun for all ages festival. An estimated 15,000-plus people are expected to attend this year’s Faire which features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.

“We’re excited to once again bring all kinds of makers and non-makers together to be inspired by and share new ideas, creations and innovations,” said Milton Walker III, interim executive director of the Southeast Makers Alliance, host of this year’s Maker Faire. “From art and crafting to drone and robot racing, there’s something for all interests!”

More than 100 makers are signed up to share their ideas, passions and projects, including costume and textile designers, woodworkers, blacksmith and precious metal makers, tech hackers, robot builders, LEGO® architects, independent manufacturers and graphic and visual artists. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities and learn new skills as they take part in a range of interactive exhibits.
